Naming, branding, copy, and packaging for a brash midwestern brewery.

Branding | Naming | Copy | Packaging

What started as a project to name and create a basic visual identity for a new, midwestern-based brewery quickly turned into a massive branding and marketing push involving the naming and packaging of 9 different beers, pages of marketing copy, the design of the brewery and taphouse spaces themselves and a line of apparel and accessories. A diverse collection of work but all unified by a brash yet straight-forward voice.

NoCoast is brand-spanking new, launching just last month (August 2016), so I’m judging this beer strictly on looks alone. It could suck, it could be awesome. I don’t know. But I love the label work and I love the attitude behind NoCoast’s marketing spiel.

The Middlefesto

We wanted to create a rallying cry, a declaration of what makes NoCoast, NoCoast. The Middlefesto can be seen on everything from NoCoast cans to the walls of the taproom and brewery.

Raddison Blu

UX | UI | Design

Raddison Blu’s site was in need of a redesign focused on increasing engagement and conversion. My design introduced a more human, personal tone: the app is now your virtual concierge.

Brand | Copy | Collateral | ALL. THE. THINGS.

For five years I was Principal Partner at BIKLOPS, a digitally-minded branding agency with office in Kansas City, Missouri and Portland, Oregon. Aside from running the business, interfacing personally with clients, and working on client projects I also created and lead the BIKLOPS brand.

Marxent Labs

Brand | Web Design

As a fan of fantasy and science fiction, being asked to brand an Augmented Reality company was a dream come true. My concept was to create an ‘impossible’ brand. A brand, that from the mark to the art direction, evokes feelings of the impossible made possible.

Fun Fact: CEO Beck Besecker has the Marxent M mark I designed tattooed on his arm.

Codi and Simon Bates wanted to open a new restaurant in an area of Lawrence Kansas that was lacking a place for the community to come, eat, and relax. We new convincing the town that the food and cocktails are delicious would be easy, instead we wanted to tell the story of a place where everyone is happy to see you and eager to become friends.

Proud to have worked with clients like:
